Join her as she meets one incredible character after another, in this lively retelling of the classic quirky tale by Lewis Carroll. Alice in Wonderland is in Series Two of Usborne Young Reading, which combines good stories with easy reading text. Usborne Young Reading has been developed in consultation with Alison Kelly, Senior Lecturer at Roehampton University. Series One is for readers who have just started reading alone. Series Two is for readers who are growing in confidence. Series Three is for readers who are ready for longer stories. Adapted by Lesley Sims.

We learn that the real wonderland is the mind of a child, and the happy carefree long, summer days of innocence in which Alice dreamed her dream.

I don't think so. Everyone knows this story. Alice falls down the rabbit hole and into Wonderland - a place wholly unexpected, trivial and unforgettable. She meets several good friends (like the White Rabbit and the Cheshire Cat) and a few enemies (The Red Queen) as she stumbles her way through.
Reading this book for the first time as an adult leaves me bewildered, vaguely amused and mostly lost. I'm now worrying whether I'm too old for children's stories anymore (I briefly reread some of my faves - HP, Winnie the Pooh and Charlotte's Web - and have concluded it's not me, just that book).

This story has lots of lessons that are currently applicable to people in their everyday life....Ещё
This story has lots of lessons that are currently applicable to people in their everyday life. For instance, the Cheshire Cat when Alice asked him where she should go. So many people in life don't know where they're going and so they just settle on one arbitrary direction. Lewis Carroll is a master and his craft.

What lesson did you learn from this book? This book was really weird and I just didn't like it. Overall, I will never pick this book up again.
